Make your own epoxy floor?

Metallic epoxy, vinyl flooring, epoxy paint

Perhaps you don't see the need to hire a professional. After all, the task seems easy.

However, we strongly advise you to read the following information carefully before making a decision. At Plancher Epoxy Sherbrooke, we have often had to correct mistakes made by amateurs who wanted to do the work themselves. Don't take the risk of getting a mediocre result and deal with our qualified epoxy and polyaspartic flooring specialists.

First, think about this example. Chances are, like most people, you will have your oil change done in the garage. Even though it's a fairly easy task, you probably prefer to pay someone to do it for you. Why should you do it? One of the reasons is probably that it's a dirty job. A mechanic does have the necessary equipment to do this kind of work, which you don't have. You trust him or her to make sure you're using the right oil and air filter for your car while working quickly and actively. He is also qualified to detect any problems your vehicle may have.

An experienced team

Just like your mechanic, we have the required experience as well as the right tools and products to do a flawless job. No matter what your situation is, it is very likely that we have already encountered a similar one because we have many years of experience. By going on site to evaluate the work to be done, we can detect the particularities of the place where the work is to be done. In this way, we assure you that the final results will meet your expectations.

For us, our work is an art. A concrete floor represents for us the white canvas waiting for the painter's brushstrokes. We love our job because we never see two projects the same. Each time, it is an opportunity to create something different that presents itself to us.

Prepare the surface

Preparing the surface is a crucial step to obtain good results. If you decide to complete the work yourself, be aware that you do not have the same tools as we do. For example, if the concrete floor is already painted, you will first have to sand the entire floor to remove the paint. This means hard and exhausting hours of work waiting for you. Faced with such a task, some people prefer to sand only the corners where the paint is deteriorating. We absolutely do not advise you to use this technique because it does not give a satisfactory result. You will then have to use a degreasing product to clean the floor. This again does not give an optimal result.

By entrusting your work to Plancher Epoxy Sherbrooke, you can be assured that the concrete will be optimally primed. We use a diamond blade grinder to remove the layer of paint present on the floor. If the concrete is in its raw state, the use of a diamond blade grinder is still required to allow the epoxy to adhere perfectly to the concrete. All specialists agree that using a diamond blade grinder is the best choice to obtain an impeccable result.
